Since Susanna Egri chose Turin as a privileged place for its activity, it has been constituted in this city a center unique in Italy, for the study, the creation and appreciation of dance.

It is the Fondazione Centro Studio per la Danza, of which the Company EgriBiancoDanza and the Company DAS are the theatrical enactment, while the University of Dance and the School of Dance Susanna Egri constitute the pedagogical and educational activities. Four separate entities, but closely interconnected.

 

The Foundation Jolanda and Susanna Egri, rises in 1998 in direct continuity with the action of the Center for Study of Dance (non-profit institution, whose establishment dates back to 1953).

For decades the Centre has occupied the organization of shows, conferences and seminars with the aim of promoting and spreading the art of dance in Italy in all its forms, thanks to the activity of his company "I Balletti di Susanna Egri ".

Since the early years, the center has provided dance students the opportunity to attend high-level courses entrusted to teachers such as SERGIO LIBEROVICI (history and music theory), LUIGI CARLUCCIO (art history), MASSIMO MILA (Musical Aesthetics) and the same SUSANNA EGRI (history and theory of dance).

 

The influence on the world of dance has been remarkable, as those who have benefited from such training have become in turn promoter of new energies in this field.

Among the many, we mention ALBERTO TESTA, professor of dance history at the National Academy, as well as critical, choreographer and organizer of shows for the Spoleto Festival and Luigi Bonino, international étoile.

In 1998 the center became a Foundation, with the aim of boosting the training, choreography and increase the production of shows.

The Centre and the Society are supported by the School of Dance of Susanna Egri, true beehive of artistic personalities who, thanks several scholarships, have both fueled the company that enriched the national and international scene.

Since 2008, the Company DAS-DanzAtelierStudios supports the activities of the Society EgriBiancoDanza integrating production work and training with a research devoted especially to the performing arts and the contamination of languages ​​in the form of the show site-specific.
